Fruit tree sale day!

Today is the day I wait for all year. The urban harvest fruit tree sale!. It is as crazy as black Friday. Everyone scrambling for the best fruit tree varieties. It is awesome. Then you spend hours dreaming of your future harvest as you wait in line. We have a small home orchard in the land of pears. And this year, we will add..........a nectarine, a packastan mulberry, a grapevine, and a jujube!!!!    I can't wait to put them in the ground! After our new additions that will make a total of 12 fruit trees in our tiny suburban lot! Now that is what you call high density home orchard, and we still have plenty of green area for our kids to run around. After this planting to finish out our orchard, we only need 6 more fruit trees which we will hopefully add over the course of this year.

Here is a pic of the fruit tree sale craziness! There are literally hundreds of people here!

First day of beautiful Fall

Today is the first day of beautiful fall weather. We have spent most of the day outside. It is this kind of weather that inspired me to create the recent Land of Pears design "Autumn Peony". It is a beautiful side table done in ochre and peony pink. It is heavily distressed and very shabby chic in a distinctly autumn kind of way......here you can see.....I am very seriously considering giving this table away as a gift.....
......I did give it away to a wonderful woman who really loved it! It was a suprise birthday present to her waiting for her on her doorstep!  It was the first Land of Pears random act of kindness!

Boho chic headboard

I just love this boho chic lighted headboard. It is completely upcycled from reclaimed solid wood which I believe to be oak. It was refinished in antique white and would look awesome in a loft.

Fix dry markers

Put markers in a glass of water. Makes them work again!
